Dragonfly is hull #2 of the most successful Oyster class, the 56, a Rob Humphreys design. She was built in England 1998 for Richard Matthews who was then the owner of Oyster Yachts.

She was built for speed, with an extra long carbon mast, rod rigging, a fully battened mainsail and a skeg-hung rudder. She is a very robust blue water cruiser set up for shorthanded sailing and has been sailed far!
She was in New Zealand for the 1999 America’s Cup and returned to the Pacific years later for an extended period with subsequent owners Simon and Kitty Van Hagen. Kitty wrote the Pacific Cruising Guide during that time. Dragonfly is now heading to New Zealand for the third time with a family of six!

She is small enough to be sailed by a couple of people, but large enough to take up to six guests in comfort as well. She has two double cabins aft and forward, a twin cabin with bunk beds on the port side, and two passage bunks by the engine room.
